Ghost is forced to reject and distance himself from Soap due to fraternizing rules, this results in Soap getting really upset and taking suicide missions, but somehow surviving them in hopes it would pull Ghost back to him, either through a promotion or sheer determination. - - - - - Chapters follow the song "Little Lion Man" by Mumford & Sons This is my first time actually trying to write something, please be patient with me. This isn't "just another lockdown" as they expected. This is a menace that they were never trained to handle, and couldn't have prepared to face. In a world filled with dragons and mystery, Ghost in only in it for the count and how many bullets he has to put in someone. That was until he met Soap Mactavish. Now, they have to trust one another to make it out alive when a mission goes horribly wrong.

Simon "Ghost" Riley and John "Soap" MacTavish have been in a relationship for a couple of weeks, and every single day together felt like a treasure, yet every training reminded them of how much they risk (credits to fernaitor for the cover)

[I've kind of mashed the canon from them. essentially it sources the comics for the past, references the original modern warfare lineup for Roach and then the last segment lines up with the events of the newer MW2, this was to kind of create my own timeline for the remake. hope that helps!] Ghost had killed off his life outside the military many years ago, as a result scars from past trauma had never fully healed due to years of neglect and ignorance in the hopes they'd go away on their own. When being forced to face those scars over Christmas he quickly realised he couldn't do it without Johnny 'soap' Mactavish, a Sergeant he was loosely acquainted with. In doing so he's forced to go against his self-hatred, his longing for affection and the loss of a teammate near to him. [[TW/CW for drinking, mentions of child abuse, mentions of torture and generally a lot of trauma. Also I've not played any of the games but I plan to soon! <3 ]]
