hey everyone !! i orginally wrote the idea for this fic on tiktok, my account is "theangelofthursday", basically i have never ever played CoD, only read fics about it, i thought ao3 would be better for a fic like this, but i do not have an account, and are too lazy to make one, so i posted on here where i do. (yes i know you can post annoymously on ao3). Anyway this is my first CoD fic like ever, i will probably include very very small amounts of Gaelic and Scottish slang as i do not want to get any of the terms wrong 😭. a short GhostSoap fic that takes place after the Subway scene in MW3 2023

Ghost found himself in the crossfire while in conflict during a mission. Soap finds him and desperately tries to help, not ever imagining having gone on a mission with two people and only coming back with one person alive. Throughout the time Soap is tending to Ghost, Ghost's mind wanders on about what the future could having held. •--•--• (Also posted this on my Ao3) I really don't regret anything. Ngl, this is my first ever one-shot. I think I did better with it than my other works. If you're wondering why Soap's "yous" switch between "ya" and "you," it's because I feel like he's more of a "ya" guy, but there's some situations/phrases where "ya" doesn't cut it and you have to use "you," y'know? [I've kind of mashed the canon from them. essentially it sources the comics for the past, references the original modern warfare lineup for Roach and then the last segment lines up with the events of the newer MW2, this was to kind of create my own timeline for the remake. hope that helps!] Ghost had killed off his life outside the military many years ago, as a result scars from past trauma had never fully healed due to years of neglect and ignorance in the hopes they'd go away on their own. When being forced to face those scars over Christmas he quickly realised he couldn't do it without Johnny 'soap' Mactavish, a Sergeant he was loosely acquainted with. In doing so he's forced to go against his self-hatred, his longing for affection and the loss of a teammate near to him. [[TW/CW for drinking, mentions of child abuse, mentions of torture and generally a lot of trauma. Also I've not played any of the games but I plan to soon! <3 ]]

Modern Warfare 2 (2022) zombie AU: Task Force 141 comes home from the warfront only to find home irrevocably changed, regardless of any good they did abroad. This isn't "just another lockdown" as they expected. This is a menace that they were never trained to handle, and couldn't have prepared to face. So they might as well stare down the end of the world together. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (reboot) Zombie AU. Also published on AO3 with my other short-form fic.

Ghost is forced to reject and distance himself from Soap due to fraternizing rules, this results in Soap getting really upset and taking suicide missions, but somehow surviving them in hopes it would pull Ghost back to him, either through a promotion or sheer determination. - - - - - Chapters follow the song "Little Lion Man" by Mumford & Sons This is my first time actually trying to write something, please be patient with me. I do not have a very elaborate plan for this. May or may not forget about this, have a feeling someone will remind me though.

Ghost and Soap have feelings for each other, but Ghost hasn't been able to admit it. He keeps Soap at arm's length, until suddenly he's almost taken from him in combat. Soap hears a confession Ghost didn't think he was awake to hear, and the two sort out their feelings while Ghost takes care of Soap after his injury.
