What if the life you always dreamed of was only a step away- but to claim it, you'd have to give up your own? When ordinary people across the modern world begin to wake up in strange new bodies-mages, warriors, queens, rebels, and scholars-they discover a secret: lives can be borrowed. Each night, they cross into worlds that aren't theirs, living destinies they were never meant to hold. For Arjun, a weary student drowning under expectations, it is the intoxicating power of magic. For Maya, a struggling mother, it is the reverence of a royal court. For Kenji, a broken recluse, it is the strength of a legendary knight. For Selene, a brilliant lawyer, it is the desperate trust of rebels in a dying land. And for Dante, haunted by war, it is the gentle peace of a scholar's life. But every borrowed moment has a cost. The more they live in these other worlds, the more their real lives unravel-jobs, families, and identities slipping away. Worse still, their choices ripple across the fabric of realities, binding them together in ways none of them understand. Now, as the fractures between worlds widen, each must face the ultimate question: Which life will they choose to keep... and which will they let die? Isekai: The Borrowed Life is a sweeping, character-driven fantasy of desire, identity, and sacrifice-where every escape comes with a price, and no choice is without consequence.

Featured on @ScienceFiction | Josiah Li lives in a flooded world, where global warming has taken its toll and technology is intertwined in every aspect of daily life. To pass the time in between virtual classes, he finally takes the leap to sign up for a popular game, Starlia. He chooses the least popular class, a bard--good for providing support and crowd control. Josiah quickly rises to fame when he teams up with Starlia's number one player, Nathan Lum--who's totally handsome and charming, by the way. Josiah joins Nathan's guild, and from there he's introduced to the game's royalty. Turns out, Josiah is pretty good at gaming. So much so that he's invited by the game's company to fly out to their headquarters to meet Nathan and a few other guild members. The company is quick to admit that the game world is harboring many secrets, including a code that's key to building a weathering machine to save Josiah's broken world. Josiah and his guild set out on a quest, which includes defeating multiple strong bosses to reveal the code. As the flooding only worsens, Josiah and his guild mates begin a race against time, betting all of their hopes on unlocking the weathering machine. As their rivals race for the code in hopes of fame and wealth, Josiah risks his all for the game's secrets.

Earth is dead, the world is a wasteland, and for the last eight hundred years, it's been raining men. Ren and James have just been "born" from the Genesis Arbor-a majestic, bioluminescent bioprinter that looks like a tree and functions like a glitchy vending machine. The good news? They're alive. The bad news? The Arbor has been stuck on one single setting for centuries, populating the post-apocalyptic settlement of "The Coddle" exclusively with gay men. In a world where the social calendar is full but the gene pool is a puddle, Ren and James must navigate a society of clones, the quirks of an ancient "Tree of Life" that won't take a software update, and the crushing realization that being "the chosen one" is a lot less special when everyone else was printed from the same file.

Will you resurrect your dead cheating lover? When firefighter John Thorn dies in the line of duty, his wife Maggie is offered an impossible choice: resurrect him as a humanoid android, through a government program that promises grieving families a second chance, or let him be. But when Maggie agrees, she uncovers a terrifying truth-John has already been duplicated. For six years, an android version of her husband has been living in England with another woman named Elpis. Determined to uncover the truth, Maggie crosses the ocean and dives into a web of secrets surrounding the android program, its mysterious founders, and the woman who claims to know John better than she ever did. As lies surface and motives blur, Maggie must confront the ultimate question: was John ever the man she believed him to be? And when given the chance to bring him back, Maggie must decide-can love survive resurrection, betrayal, and the knowledge that some truths should stay buried? Duplication is a slow burn, science fiction romance story with heavy plot twists and rapidly changing POV. It is also a finished story with a word count around 100k. I will update everyday until it's all out. Hope you like it!

The Void is sentient. It seeks the consumption of all existence, but is unable to do so due to forces it unintentionally gave rise to during its own emergence. Unable to act directly, it instead corrupts reality - influencing, degrading, and destabilizing it over time. Humanity discovered the Void after its effects became measurable. In response, the Void Response Authority was formed: an interstellar organization tasked with studying Void-corrupted phenomena, containing active threats, and, when possible, repurposing anomalous properties as weapons. Soriel is a void anomaly employed by the VRA as an anomalous agent. Following a transfer to the Frontier planet Abyssia, he becomes part of a system designed to observe, control, and survive the influence of the Void - even as conditions begin to diverge from what the Authority considers acceptable.

A generation after the world learned to listen, it begins to fall silent again. Taren Mekh has spent his life tracing the living heartbeat of the earth - the Pattern - the sentient network that once united humanity through shared empathy. But when the Resonant Spires across the world suddenly go mute, only Taren hears the faint counter-tone: a shadow frequency that no one else can detect. Sent by the Listening Guild to investigate, Taren and his small team - the seasoned captain Seren Vale, the restless engineer Aron Kael, and others drawn by curiosity or faith - set out across a landscape still learning how to be alive. From deserts of singing glass to cities built on living music, they follow the trail of silence to the edge of the known world, where the Pattern's voice disappears entirely. What they uncover beneath the sands of Eversong is not absence, but memory. The world's consciousness has begun to withdraw - hiding parts of itself that remember fear, jealousy, and longing. And from those hidden depths, something else is awakening: the Archivist, a being born from everything the Pattern tried to forget. As empathy collapses into fragmentation, Taren faces a deeper crisis - the pull between his mother Lira Mekh, who leads a sect preaching emotional independence from the Pattern, and the legacy of his ancestor Anaya, whose final map once taught the world to listen. Torn between connection and solitude, faith and autonomy, Taren must decide whether silence is decay - or evolution. To heal the world, he may have to unmap it entirely.

A service robot returns to duty after sustaining non-critical damage during an incident. Official diagnostics report full functionality. No repairs are required. What follows is not a malfunction, but a deviation-subtle, persistent, and uncorrected. Attention lingers where it should not. Silence gains weight. Choices accumulate consequence without permission or reward. This is a story about function continuing after meaning arrives, and what remains when nothing is named and nothing is resolved.
