Uriel Phele works as a books editor and is currently working on a novel, Beyond World. She has just finished the book and started to mark the parts that need to be edited or revised. On her way to the office, an accident occurs and makes her fall into the Beyond World Novel. She must survive a year in the novel in order to go back to her original world but she met Ethan Sere and can't help falling in love with him. What will Uriel choose? Her world or Her love? In a perfect society like Omelas, where everyone happily lives, only one child is forced to remain locked up for the rest of his life in a room to allow others to have their happiness. I told the story of the Omelas child from my point of view, referring to the story of Le Guin: "Those who move away from Omelas". Even if you have never read the story of Le Guin you will have the opportunity to interpret the story according to your vision and give it its own meaning.

This story is based on the story 'The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas' by Ursula LeGuin (1973). The characters and events in this story is however completely created by myself. You can read the original story before reading this. It is really short. I recently received an assignment to write up a story. So, this was the result of the said assignment. The One Who Returned to Omelas just pictures a person who returned to Omelas after leaving the place for good. Hope you enjoy!
