This compilation of poems and short stories were inspired by Harlem Renaissance artists such as: Langston Hughes, Zora Neale-Hurston, Claude McKay, Lorraine Hansberry, Countee Cullen, W.E.B Du Bois, James Baldwin and countless others. Their influence on and off the page helped shape who I am as an African-American. My work is solely a reflection of multiple aspects of my life and sometimes I will use images that coincide with my subject matter. My poems and short stories "tell it like it is". I'm not trying to throw shade. I'm just speaking my truth.

Basically, I'm actually going to warn you when I leave again ;D

"Let me see your hands!" They demanded. "DO YOU SEE OUR HANDS!!" We cried back. This is my statement, I will not be silent during this time, and will not do nothing while injustice is continuously stalking my people. At times like this, they only make us stronger. As we rise together and fight for what we are owed. So stand together, because the fight is not over, the fight will be won, and the fight certainly won't be lost, not till injustice is dead.

Dear Black Boys, SUPRISE! We are not all like that, matter of fact we are better than that stereotype you continue to put us on. We are not bitter, we are not loud, and we are not stupid. We are hardworking, ambitious, and smart. Dear Black Men, the more you go around saying "white woman are better" or "black woman have an attitude all the time", makes this generations black boys think they not only want a white woman, but need a white woman. It's okay to go around and try some milk with your coffee but it's not okay to disrespect us, especially when your mother is black.
