Steve and a pizza worker. Who knew? Not Steve.

No one was expecting that call that night when it rang through close to five. Steve Harrington had been missing for three years. He'd disappeared the Christmas break of his freshman year, everyone had just assumed he'd run off with his parents on one of their wild vacations. No one expected to find him when the call rang through that night.

As Eddie goes into his second round of Senior Year, he finds himself caught into a situation he would have never imagined himself in...friends with Steve Harrington. Somewhere in the multiverse, season 4 was Steddie confirmed...so I wrote a story about it. It follows some of the plot from the season, but with newer content based off the changes that I've made. With that being said there will be some spoilers from the original plot. -THIS BOOK IS GOING UNDER EDITS TO BE BETTER! It's still readable I'll never post an unreadable chapter, or story, but if it's different than the last time you read it, that is why. If chapters are missing, I merged a few because it should have been one chapter in the first place. If you read it without paying attention to chapter titles, it'll be in order! Steve and his friends killed Venca before he could kill more people after already killing 3 people. They stopped him from opening an immense gate. Venca had killed Chrissy Cunningham, Fred Benson, and Patrick Mckinney. Chrissy Cunningham was found in her bedroom. Fred Benson was found in the middle of a street. Patrick Mckinney was found in his bathroom. Steve just helped Nancy and Robin get out of THE house. When they were in the forest on their way to Eddie's trailer, Steve heard something behind him. He immediately takes out his bat only to just barely dodge a set of jaws aimed at his throat. An infected Demo dog latches onto his back instead, biting deep with its thick, black saliva, but Steve manages to throw it off and slam his bat against its head once, killing it instantly. Of course, he doesn't tell anyone, not wanting them to worry. Steve starts to feel clammy and hot that night, his eyes rimmed red and his throat felt swollen. The next day he's starting to get really anxious and nervous, his pulse racing as everything gets louder and smells get stronger, almost overwhelming him.

Eddie left Hawkins in 1986 with no reason to ever return. But now, a few years have passed and life has changed. Eddie finally returns home and has to deal with everything he left behind, including Steve Harrington. This story starts in May 1991.

Eddie Munson is decidedly NOT a hero, but something about this ragtag group makes him release he has things in his life worth living and dying for. And one of those things, is the incredibly attractive, Steve Harrington. *alternate ending bc fuck the Duffer brothers, everybody lives bc I said so*

I've done a Deku's Instagram and a tanjiro's Instagram so why not a Steve Harrington Instagram??? modern AU set there will be Steve angst I love him but there is so much I wish they would have added to the show!!!

This fanfic takes place after the gang don't manage to defeat Vecna at the end of S4, but in my version they do :) Eddie survives with heavy injuries and max isn't in a coma either. It's a slow burn, with Eddie already having a crush on Steve and Steve developing feelings throughout the story. There's a lot of back and forth and figuring out sexuality and obviously it's also a secret relationship as it's the 80s 💔 TW: There's some smut and explicit language/topics!
