Ramogi Odhiambo, a skeptical student at Luo University, finds himself drawn into forces older than history after meeting Nyambura Atieno, the Eye-witch, who introduces him to the Knights of Kavirondo; a secret order of contemporary Anubis devotees. Under the subtle manipulation of Professor Camilla Adhiambo, Ramogi summons Nyawawa (wandering living-dead spirits) and is pulled through ancestral memory into the Ancient Kingdom of Kush, where forgotten alliances, rituals, and bloodlines begin to reveal their connection to the present. As the journey deepens, he is asked to accept the Nak ritual, granting passage through the Gate of Duat. But Ramogi's Nilotic heritage pulls him toward another path, the Ker of the Nilotes, creating a conflict between ancient Egyptian traditions and Nilotic ancestry. Caught between science, spirituality, and destiny, Ramogi must decide which path to follow, as secret societies, ancestral forces, and buried histories begin shaping the fate of the modern world - along the ever-flowing current of The Perennial Nile.
