He was inches from my face in seconds, pulling me tightly to his broad chest and encasing me in his strong arms. His gold eyes were burning, scorching me, and suddenly I was warm all over and gasping for air. "You're mine," he growled out, "completely and utterly mine. An eerie poem about a murder of crows. Fun fact: a group of crows is called a murder. I'm actually pretty fond of crows and am not superstitious about those intelligent birds at all, but hey, what else are you going to write about when "murder" is in your title? Yes, there is an actual murder in this quick story, but it isn't very graphic. The most graphic word is "pecking." So, y'know, I'd rate it T. Not sure if it'd qualify for M, and that label would drive people away... Anyways, thanks for reading this far into my inane ramblings! Rebecca never wanted to get on the damned ship in the first place. In 1543, women were bad luck on a working ship. So bad, in fact, that any women found on a ship might be cast overboard. Rebecca Parr's older brother doesn't care. When Francis Parr hears trading in Greece is THE most profitable business from a shady man in a tavern, he packs up his sister and their few belongings. He sells everything else and buys thousands of pounds of sugar to sell. He hires a merchant ship, and within a month, leaves England. There's just one problem.
