Meanwhile, Isamu's stoic shell begins to crack as he realizes that being "nonchalant" isn't the same as being okay.

Bedrooms lit by phone screens at midnight. People said his music saved them. No one asked what it took from him. At twenty four, it all stopped. A concert. A crowd. A gun. Sixty four people died. Thirty two were injured. Bryson lived, and that was the part he could not forgive. He disappeared without explanation. Interviews were ignored. Tours were canceled. Albums were abandoned mid lyric. The world waited for answers that never came, while Bryson drowned in the certainty that his voice had brought them there. That if he had never sung, they would have gone home alive. Silence became punishment. Drugs became necessary. Caring became impossible. Singing became a wound he could not touch. Seven years passed without a sound.
