The year is 2012. Kai Evans has finally recovered from his horrible injuries. He faces only one problem. He has forgotten about his past; all but one nightmare. Castiel has been dreaming a lot lately. Dreaming about Dean Winchester. A man he doesn't really know and one he's eager to be close to. SUPERNATURAL FAN FICTION! I do not own any of these characters, just the story :P

The idea for Homecoming crept into my mind after reading an article about veteran suicides. The idea, a small, unformed concept, chased me into my dreams and back into my daytime musings again. They fermented over the days and weeks and, eventually, became a story. This one is important to me. Just so you know, I spent the first third of my adult life in the U.S. Army. I spent two and a half of those years in Vietnam. I think about those years a lot. I think about Vietnam and my time there, the people I knew and surrounded myself with, and the people we fought. I know the Veteran suicide rate is higher than that of the population in general. That knowledge, those thoughts, and my personal episodes of PTSD-driven night terrors led me to a story of how a troubled person could be led to leave this life.

May 14th was the day I tried to kill myself, did I succeed? I guess not. These are the diaries of Iris, she's had highs, lows, been hospitalised, abandoned, harassed and thrown away but she is determined to make tomorrow a better day. This is her story. *May be triggering for some so be careful my lovelies*
