Through Minakshi and Anand, this poem explores how patience, understanding, and simply being present can bring comfort to someone who is struggling. Anand doesn't take away Minakshi's problems-he just makes sure she never feels completely alone while facing them. A poem about friendship, emotional safety, and the quiet ways one person can make another person's world a little lighter. About the Author I am Lavanya Y. Rao, a new writer who finds stories and poems in the people and moments that leave a mark on my heart. I wrote this poem while remembering a really good friend of mine-someone I met at a time when I simply wanted someone to listen to me. He has listened to me for hours, and many times, he doesn't even try to give me advice. He just lets me talk until I have completely ranted out everything that has been bothering me. In many ways, he has become like my personal diary. I tell him about almost everything that happens in my life-the happy moments, the sad ones, the frustrations, the little things, and everything in between. He listens without making me feel like I am saying too much. His birthday recently passed, and I wanted to write something for him-not just as a birthday wish, but as a small thank-you for always being there. This poem is my way of saying **thank you for listening, for staying, and for simply being there. ❤️
