So when, in a truth or dare game she plays with her dorky friends, they give her a dare to ask out renowned player Stephen, Peyton doesn't need much convincing (well she still needs a little push)... But after some teasing and messing with him, a bond forms around the lie that is Peyton and Stephen. But it was a dare, there was no future attached to it. So...
