Avery Standish was the opposite to her sister Claire. Claire was miss popular, the princess of the school and she always looked beautiful in her floral dresses and high heels along with her flawless skin and perfect hair. Avery was not like that, she had never been seen in a dress, always in her large denim jacket and the most she did with her hair was straighten it or put in in a ponytail. Sure she was getting ok grades and had a great personality but who cared about that if at first glance you were a cocky loner? But she didn't care, she had herself and now she had a month of Saturday detention with her best friend Vernon. Great.

It's March 24th, 1984. 6 students received a Saturday detention. This Saturday, is a one time experience. Not being able to go to Saturday detention any longer (by district rules, peers can only serve 1 week of Saturday detention straight), Mr. Vernon is still out for blood. Having a choice to make, either another round of Juvie or taking part in a sport for the rest of the year, John picked a sport. His excuse was 'he didn't really have the energy to wake up at 6 o' clock in the morning every day.' Being that decision was made, he got signed up for Wrestling, the only sport willing to take him In. Of course, not being up to lead in the sport, he needed some 'extra tutoring'. And who's not better to do that than the star wrestler Andrew Clark? Expect only there's more to that than tutoring...

Toni Greenwood is a sixteen year old girl who has landed herself a detention for standing up to a bully by pranking her. She goes in on Saturday morning to meet a whole group of people.
