Avery Standish was the opposite to her sister Claire. Claire was miss popular, the princess of the school and she always looked beautiful in her floral dresses and high heels along with her flawless skin and perfect hair. Avery was not like that, she had never been seen in a dress, always in her large denim jacket and the most she did with her hair was straighten it or put in in a ponytail. Sure she was getting ok grades and had a great personality but who cared about that if at first glance you were a cocky loner? But she didn't care, she had herself and now she had a month of Saturday detention with her best friend Vernon. Great.

Rosalie Sinclair is a normal teenage girl attending Shermer High School in Shermer, Illinois, when she has to spend Saturday detention with some of the people she never thought she'd see together. A Saturday in detention with five people you barely even know... What could get worse? Or what could get better?
