IAAN- Idiopathic Adolescent Acute Neurodegeneration. It kills 90% of kids under ten. It's the disease that plagues my world. And no one knows what caused it. At first the people feared the disease because it killed 90% of America's children. But then, they feared it because of what it did to the ones who lived. The ones like me. It turned us into freaks, as the adults like to say. The disease gave us special abilities. We were strong. The government feared us. As the government does when it fears things, it locked us away. They segregated us by colour, by danger, and sent us to live in camps. But I won't have that. Jia Thorin won't have that. I will do whatever it takes to stop this, including joining the Children's League, an organization that advocates for the kids of America, the ones who live. The ones like me. A mysterious plague has wiped out a majority of kids in the fictional country of Hardonia, leaving the rest with mysterious, unexplainable powers. Due to the government fearing what they could do, they locked the kids up in state rehabilitation camps, in an attempt to rehabilitate them from their powers. A wolf wakes up in the middle of it all, with no memory except his name and the word "Red". He joins a group of runners - kids like him on the run from the government, looking for a place called New Haven. During their journey, he gets close to one of the runners - a girl named Lyra, who may have the power to help him regain his memory. But regaining his memory is only the start of his problems...

This is a completely different storyline than the Darkest Minds. This, well, this is my version. I added new characters and all that. But this is a story that mostly focuses on Zu when her group reaches East River. She meets a boy who is friends with her cousin, and the two immediately fall in love. This boy is named Peter. It's clear she wants him so badly but she doesn't trust herself with a love interest, and he wants to be with her but he can't afford to get close, not when he's the reason IAAN happened. I need to credit Miya Cech, Amandla Stenberg, Harris Dickinson, and Skylan Brooks for playing the best Black Betty gang I could have ever imagined (or Blue Betty, it depends on which adaptation you want to go with)

The idea is taken from "The darkest minds" the movie but the colors are different, and thought holds the same powers. I don't own the idea but the story is mine. Emily finally gets her abilities after six months in a lab. She's black, meaning the most destructive. Leaving the medical facility behind me in ashes, I'm on the run from the government seeking out others like me-someone who can learn me how I'm supposed to control and hopefully protect myself using my ability.

This is my take on what happens after Ruby wakes up from the 'coma'. It's pretty sure buuuuut I hope ya like it! Also the characters in this story do not belong to me, ALL RIGHTS go to Alexandra Braken :))
