She had a heart of gold and a goal to be free with the other kids. She almost fulfilled that goal- but she sacrificed her safety so those other kids could have a head start. The PSFs kept her trapped in one of their bases- and boy, did they make sure she wasn't getting out. She was there for six more years. Lizzie is now nineteen. I never quite understood death, not even when over half of my class died from IAAN, and most adults began to hold us at arms length. But when my brother died, death had become a constant companion.
