Alex Bridgewater is an 11 (soon to be 12) year old girl with a messed up past and something worse ahead of her... On the 2nd of September 2013 Alex has her first day at her new school far away from her past. It's the start of high school and a wipe of the slate. Little did she know a boy was watching her and working out her secrets that were meant to be kept hidden... She and a boy are taken as two of the nine volunteers for a special new project at their local hospital where everything seems fine : he's an ok boy, no Jamie Connor to worry about pestering her and no school which is just the icing on the cake. As soon as she gets on the bus she notices somethings odd, everyone's older than her and the boy. Just an innocent mistake made by Miss Heather (Head teacher) isn't it? She finds herself becoming close friends with: Erick Burke (Alice's funny gay best friend) , Mason Solomon (Alice's boyfriend) , Alice Kent (A super pretty girl) and Riley Emerson (Her pair she gets stuck with). They all sneak out at night and have fun playing games like Truth or dare without the other participants knowing. Alex is truly happy for once but how long can that last... After a long night of testing at the hospital everyone gathers on the sofa for a comfy night of movies when they see something they weren't supposed to...a huge scandal has occurred. When they hear the names of the 'Dead' everyone freezes. Alex's life had slowly began showing glimmers of light to her darkness but two minutes and 36 seconds can change everything... The testing was meant to last two weeks but... A story about love, romance and mystery. Somehow they have to work out how to escape alive whilst finding the truth. Twists, turns and betrayal all packed into one book. Two weeks can turn into years... Isn't everything good bound to turn rotten? Nine teens didn't actually die in a buss accident did they...but where are they now...the answer only lies beyond the minds eyes...
