"Here's a story my father told me while we walked across the Limani desert. There was once a vagabond, thin and frail, drained and incapable. He wore his hood despite the swelter of that same desert. The boots he wore were battered, decrepit. The thought of banishing himself into the underworld came to his mind a many times, for it was the logical outcome of his choices. However, his legacy forbade him to commit such travesty. For he had a gift. "He could steal the stories of heroes and villains, killers and victims, gods and plebeians. Passed down through the memory, I sit here to tell you of his stolen tales. Why? Because I suffered through that journey, and it's only fitting I have my tales heard from my own voice."

Juniper is determined to beat her annoying neighbor Jake at this year's treasure hunt. The night takes an unexpected turn when she's forced to fight for both their lives.

When Bethany-or just Beth-moved to Woodscreek Town, she immediately fell in love with it. That was ten years ago. From the small population to the enchanting forest that laid itself behind the town, she loved it. There was something about it that made her not want to leave. She learnt, almost as soon as she opened the door to her new home, that every year Woodscreek held a tradition that went back hundreds of years. Or so she was told. The whole town gathered in the town square and at about 9:30 am, the various "teams" would set off; Looking for the grand prize of a year's worth of wine. Which, apparently, was only about five bottles. Made sense, seeing as not far away there was a winery. Beth eagerly took part every year. But every year, she lost. "Not this time," She promised herself. The only problem being, something far more sinister was going on behind the scenes of this ideal town. And it all started when someone didn't show up at six o'clock in the evening; the time the hunt ended. --- For @mystery and @adventure's "The Treasure Hunted" contest.

Every year the town hosts a treasure hunt and this year Eve is determined to win but along the way, one of her neighbors disappear and it's up to her to find out what is really happening. This story was written for #thetreasurehunted challenge.

When the expected leads to the unexpected

On the outside, Riley Jennings has got it under control. She's the top of the class, ivy-league bound, and plans to go far in life. But nobody knows the dark secret that she lives with; her perfect, football star boyfriend, Blake, is a monster. She's forced to conformity, only to meet the one person who will help her break out of her shell, and break out of her detrimental relationship. Dean Marks, the new rebellious transfer student, has taken it upon himself to help Riley. Little does she know, he's got a dark secret too; one only his protective, controlling, older brother Alex knows about. Together, they will run from their pasts, only to stumble into them once more.

Vander is determined to win this year. Fate has other plans.
