Youth, joy and love are beautiful things in a dark, cruel world. In this short story enter the mind of a teen girl named Grace who is faced with the awful things that happen in this cruel world.

Grace Martinez is a veteran for the war she fought for her country and the youngest to serve for her country at age 18. She was known to be the intelligent, head strong, athletic lieuntant in the army. Sadly at midnight, her own squad died from an ambush during the war. Even after the war, Grace felt the guilt and failure of not bringing her squad back home to their family. Jason Herendez is a veteran son of a sargent. Jason heard the stories of the famous Grace Martinez. He even went to school with her. Jason is a flirtous guy who can make any girls puddle to their knees minus Grace. She was a challenge for him. Which leads a crush on the veteran. What would faith bring them together at one faithful midnight. Original title called, 'Midnight.' So I enter this story for the contest called The Kissing Booth. short story of my crushes and love life from in middle school that transfer to high school once I graduated middle school every classmate known than im a great artist someone of them asked me to draw the one boy that I loathed I was board so I turn and face him he was talking to his friends at the time I was studying the outlines of his face so I could draw it accurately instead of drawing an ugly, fugly duckling grinch (which I did draw when I was home) (Yasss beetchas I show no shame for my sin of loathing him) and it was all the book/novel "Stargirl." and the person that asked me to draw him, and my OCD's obsession for perfection that I blame for the beginning of many guys saying that I'm cute, pretty, beautiful,nice hair style, and awesome outfit,your an amazing artist and its all because he looked at me, and noticed that I was starring at him studying his facial structure but the words that came out of his mouth was the words of his early death wish that I wished I could've, granted, that I would've been accused of murder....
