This fantasy novel follows Elara and Lyra, twin sisters with opposing views on music. Elara is a master composer for the rigid Stavekeepers' Guild, focused on order and structure. Her world is shattered when her twin, Lyra, a renegade "Songbreaker" who wields forbidden magic through a resonant lute, interrupts Elara's symphony premiere while fleeing from the ruthless Stavekeepers. Forced to choose, Elara abandons her career and joins Lyra, discovering that her sister's "chaos" is actually a powerful, raw form of magic capable of soothing a demon and healing a blighted land. They are captured by both the oppressive Stavekeepers and the tyrannical Demonsong Guild, who want to weaponize their power. However, the sisters use their combined talents-Elara's compositional knowledge and Lyra's raw musical intuition-to orchestrate a masterful escape. Rather than becoming weapons for either faction, the sisters seek a third path. They use their music to heal a dead land, proving that their power can restore rather than destroy. In the final confrontation, they face both the King's army and the Demonsong Guild, but instead of fighting, they play a symphony of empathy. Their music forces all sides to feel the pain of the war-torn land, shattering the will of their enemies and bringing an end to the conflict. With the old powers broken, the sisters refuse to rule and instead choose to become wandering guardians of song.
