Marguax Thudor and Moore Hemsworth are third year university students struggling through heavy coursework, growing pressure, and a relationship that is slowly losing its warmth.
After a serious argument, they book a hotel room to talk in private. Moore arrives with a hidden intention to break up because he feels overwhelmed by their relationship and his engineering workload. Instead of ending things, the conversation collapses and they end up sleeping together. What should have been closure becomes the start of a cycle they cannot control.
Their private meetups turn into a routine that grows more frequent and more impulsive. They see each other between classes, after exams, and even in places where they should not be risking anything. Communication fades while physical closeness becomes the only familiar thing they can return to.
Jealousy begins to appear. Marguax grows uneasy when Moore spends time with his engineering classmates. Moore becomes tense when Marguax works with her blockmates in accountancy. Their relationship becomes tangled with insecurity and silence.
Marguax eventually realizes that the only thing keeping them connected is the physical side of their relationship. She wants to stop the routine, but fear holds her back. She is terrified that telling the truth will push Moore away or make him leave her for real.
Holding On To Nothing is a story about love slowly slipping through the cracks, the fear of losing someone, and the painful moment when you realize that staying is hurting you more than leaving.
