Ryan smelled like spearmint gum and something warm, like clean laundry. He looked up at her, listening carefully, but the second she leaned a little closer, his arm moved without much thought. He let it slide around her waist, slow, like asking permission with touch.

"I came here to swim. Not to fall for someone like him." "He looked at me like he saw every part I'd spent years trying to hide... and for once, I didn't want to run." Lila Harper has always relied on herself. College was supposed to be a fresh start - a place to swim, stay invisible, and rebuild the pieces of a past she never asked for. She has rules: keep your head down, stay out of the spotlight, and never trust a boy who looks like trouble. Then there's Alexander Rossi. Confident. Cocky. Athletic. A track star with a reputation that follows him everywhere and a family name whispered across the city. He moves through the world like he owns it - untouchable, unbothered - and he should've been the kind of guy Lila avoided. Instead, he sees her. And when their worlds collide - hers built on survival, his built on expectations - nothing stays simple for long. Rumors cling to him. Secrets cling to her. And every time Lila tries to pull away, Alex pulls her right back in, with a softness she never expected from a boy like him. She came to CSU to outrun her past. He's spent years trying to outrun his future. But sometimes the things you run from... are the very things you end up falling for. A slow-burn, emotionally charged romance about healing, pressure, found family, a love that makes you brave, and learning that some wounds only heal when you stop hiding beneath the surface.

"Are you finally admitting that you did, indeed, flirt with me when we first met?" Aaron interrupted, his eyebrows raised and lips curling into a smirk I knew all too well. Taking a deep breath as if steeling myself for what I was about to say next. I lifted my chin up to face his intense gaze head-on, and provoked, "What if I did? What then?" He seemed taken aback by the hinting challenge in my tone, and his eyebrows flattened as he released a sigh. "Well, then I guess you must have found me attractive that day." The humor was back in his tone but there was a strained undercurrent to our conversation that had me on my toes. His eyes seemed to darken as they pinned me in place. "I wasn't the only one flirting that day," I replied, my eyebrows quirking up in defiance. For a moment we paused as my silent dare was thrown into the air. We were closer now than we were before and I could have counted his eyelashes at our distance. *** Jessa Bradford has been waiting for years to finally become the captain of her boarding school's cross-country team. But when Grace Worthington School for Girls is forced to team-up with the rival all-boys boarding school, Bennett Preparatory, for a statewide charity competition, things spiral out of control fast. Now Jessa has to work together with her arrogant, co-captain Aaron Rush to bridge the gap between their opposing schools. When they aren't busy trading insults, will they ever find time to work together? Or will their hard work fail with the rivalry?

Jordan Peters was your typical cliche high school athlete. She was the best at every sport she ever played. She had prestigious colleges looking at her. She even had a membership at the local gym and (of course) she was dating the star quarterback at Lockhaven, her high school. What could possibly go wrong? She had everything she could ever want. Sadly, this meant she had so much more to lose. To everyone, Jordan and her football star boyfriend, Tanner, were the perfect couple. Everyone wanted them to win the 'cutest couple' spot in the yearbook. That's even what Jordan had thought for the first couple of months too. Until her 'perfect' boyfriend's anger became more explosive and he took it out on her. You would think Jordan would fight back, but he had something on her. Something that could cost Jordan virtually everything. Jordan had lost all hope until she met your everyday leather jacket wearing bad boy (don't forget cigarette smoking). Jaxson was Jordan's way out. Jaxson had seen right through Jordan's facade. He knew she was in hell. He offered to help her get out of her situation, but only if she pretended to be his girlfriend after he got her out. What could possibly go wrong?
