But what starts as open hostility turns into something stranger... arguments that last too long, apologies that sound like confessions, and a tension Luke can't name. He hates Young. He's sure of it. So why does it feel like he's losing every time he looks at him?

Life on the Jersey Shore was always romanticized in TV and print media, but for twelve year old Lucca Leoni, it was a place of constant bullying and misery. Genetics weren't kind to Lucca, he was barely reaching 4'7" and weighed a measly 65 pounds, as he entered Middle School. The seventh grade girls were two to three inches taller than he was and outweighed him by at least ten pounds. The boys towered over by Lucca by at least six inches and outweighed him by 30-40 pounds. When you paired his height and weight with his long wavey brown hair, he was often mistaken for a ten year old girl.
