[Abandoned] The year is 1989. Connor Franta is stuck in a dead-end job on the edge of a pier in a small town in North Carolina. Connor thinks this summer will be like every one he's had in the past. However, that changes when he captures a glimpse of something extraordinary one evening at the beach. Because hidden in the waves is a boy with a smile like the sun, curls that shine like bronze in the dying twilight, and electric blue eyes that make Connor completely and irrevocably intrigued. Troye Sivan is a mermaid, forced to live within the confines of the mermaid settlement off the coast. The Council's strict rules aren't enough to keep him from exploring the surface world. Written in 5 parts. "p a r t o n e" in which Connor and Troye meet at a graduation ceremony and Troye confesses his sexuality to Connor. "p a r t t w o" in which Connor picks up not so subtle flirting from Troye and even begins doing the same to Troye. "p a r t t h r e e" in which Allie finds an apartment for Connor and her, leaving Connor and Troye to be possibly separated. "p a r t f o u r" in which Troye decides there is nothing left in America for him after a break between him and Connor, so he determines whether or not to go back to Australia. "p a r t f i v e" in which our protagonists try to find their own happy ending either together or apart.

Troye moves to Minnesota from Perth and has to make all new friends, as well as get used to the cold.
