Set in 1800 on a remote Philippine island, The Jungulians tells the story of a diverse tribe descended from African, Asian, Vietnamese, Hispanic, and Caucasian survivors of an ancient shipwreck. Living together as one family, the Jungulians value faith, compassion, hard work, and hospitality. Their peaceful lives change when a violent storm strands Captain James Sherman and his English crew on the island. Welcomed by Chief Liam, the sailors are invited to remain until the seas become safe again. What begins as a temporary stay soon grows into a remarkable cultural exchange as both groups share their traditions, skills, stories, and way of life. As friendships deepen, several romances begin to blossom. James Sherman (30) develops a close bond with Elysia (23), a kind-hearted Asian Jungulian who first welcomed him to the island. Elysia's best friend, Eden (23), grows close to the cheerful sailor Ryan, while the once-shy Tyler finds confidence through the kindness of Hana. Sailor Gregory forms a meaningful friendship with the wise Vietnamese Jungulian Chema (24) after learning the inspiring history of the tribe. Mason admires the compassionate African Jungulian Abisola (26) for her character and generosity, while Donovan and the warm-hearted Hispanic Jungulian Arrenella (25) become inseparable. Meanwhile, John and the thoughtful Caucasian Jungulian Evelyn (23) discover that saying goodbye may become harder than either expected. Together, the sailors and the Jungulians become more than friends-they become one extended family. As love begins to grow throughout the village, both Elysia and Captain Sherman quietly wonder if the English crew's greatest journey is not across the sea, but toward a new life on the island they have come to call home.
