She finds that talking to people outside of her small friend circle is terrifying and is easily overwhelmed by crowds. When marching, she has no problem playing with the rest of her section, but in her junior year, an opportunity for a solo presents itself. When when her nerves overwhelm her right before an audition, one of the drum majors steps off the podium to offer her a quiet, supportive word-and an unlikely, deeply supportive friendship is born. Long hours of band camp, late night bus rides from competitions, and football games only seem to bring them closer together, but a slight slip up between the two could cause a domino effect over everything they've been attempting to build.

A trumpet named Conn and a trombone named Holton become the most unfortunate of people when they end up crushing on each other. They must hide their love from everyone. But what will happen when the two end up as section leaders and must lead their side of the war against each other?

Something scandalous is about to happen in Cloverton. It's the final concert, of the 1972 Summerfield HIgh School Stage Band and Revue. Hot stage lights pierce the darkness of the auditorium, as the dramatic low rumble of a grand piano introduces the final number. This is a story about Denny, the girl who put the BRA in Algebra, burned indelibly into my memory. Scandalous in its day. It never happened. Both Georgie and Aaron are members of the high school marching band and happen to sit next to each other on the way to every single game. All Georgie wants to know is if Aaron is still in love with Georgie or is in love with Georgie's old friend Sarah. What will Georgie do to figure this out?

Charlotte Knox is an upcoming freshman at Grover High School. She is ready for a change of pace, but what she is most excited for is the marching band. Charlotte is looking forward to meeting her new trumpet section, finding new friends, and making memories to last a lifetime. Follow her as she goes through her freshman year and deals with meeting new people, losing old friends, and being around numerous hot guys.

As a marcher myself, I can say that these terms are used in marching band, and that the use and definition of these terms are tweaked for a comedic setting. The terms are, also, mostly true. So, if you ever thought of joining a Marching Band, read this book!!
