So here let me introduce you to my not so normal life, and the not so normal world of the Variant. The Almost humans.

falling UP! Come sit reader shot-gun in our 'Rezz ride! "I can remember my whole entire life mom taking us out for supper. Oh yes, when I close my eyes tight, the smell of fry bread floats around my nose. It's like seeing a unicorn or something. Aye! We searched everywhere for that famous bannock drive through. It seemed like we'd driven forever. Now, like seventeen years later, I'm driving. Right?!!! I'm a natural they say. Natural born fry bread lover! Who says cousins can't be your best friend? Duh. They were always with me. At home, painting our nails. At the powwow, fancy dancing and singing. Seemed like we were always dancing or practicing and they were the best competition for me. We always tried to do our best and love each other hard. No jealousy. Some fighting but we always made up. My best friend, my second cousin, her mom always brought us to every powwow. Her van pulled this huge but old camper and man, those were the best memories. We didn't have to wait in those long lines at the powwow's to get into a portable bathroom. Nah. We could sit on our cousins's throne whenever we needed it. My mom. She's old school Native. My dad... well, he tries his best. I think we all did. Things started to change, some. Slowly. I thought I was born to fancy dance. Winter came. And things changed..."

Waking in a strange tavern with no memories of who he is other than his name, Stepa finds he's not the only one with amnesia. With seemingly nothing in common, he and five others have begun to realize that they have been chosen for a purpose that wasn't meant for them. The death of the holy warrior Oskan and his warband during the Peacekeeper Banners changed the tides of a war before they were even born. Now, under the name of the Spearhead King, Oskan has crawled out of the confinement of the spirit's realm and thrown off the balance of mortals and spirits alike. The magical forces of Orenda and Starwalkers have begun to bleed into the earthly world and along with his friends, Stepa must find a way to stop the Spearhead King from tearing the balance apart and plunging their world into an endless night.

In the sun-baked valleys of 1500s New Mexico, where the Spanish mission bells echo against ancient canyon walls, two souls meet at a river's edge - each seeking something they cannot find in their own world. Mateo, a young Spanish settler fleeing the rigid confines of his homeland, finds himself drawn ever further from the mission's watchful eyes. His solitary walks along the river become something more when he encounters Ahiga, a Zuni Lhamana - a Two-Spirit person whose very existence challenges everything he's been taught. In Ahiga's gentle strength and artistic gifts, Mateo glimpses a freedom he's only dreamed of. Through shared moments of pottery-making, their hands speak what their different languages cannot. Each lesson becomes a ritual, each exchanged word a treasure, as they build something far more precious than the vessels they create together. In the safety of morning shadows and secret paths, they discover that love, like clay, can be shaped into something beautiful if one has the courage to try. Set against the backdrop of early Spanish colonization, "Confluence of Hearts" is a tender historical romance about finding love across cultural boundaries, the courage to live truthfully, and the universal language of the heart. Like two rivers joining to form something new, their story challenges us to imagine a world where love transcends all barriers - cultural, linguistic, and spiritual.
