Princess Talulah of Eqeoneian, a kingdom separated from the rest of the world, loves to ride. Not getting much attention from her parents or her brothers, Talulah finds company with the steeds that reside in the royal stable. But when she gets an invitation to a mysterious riding school, Talulah disregards the possible dangers and runs away to her new life. Unaware of the panic she's caused by leaving, Talulah realizes the riding academy she was invited to is actually a school that teaches students to become unicorn riders, and to protect Unicorn Island. Still shocked by this revelation, Talulah tries to fit in at Unicorn Academy. Rory, the biggest prankster in the school, decides that Talulah needs help loosening up, and takes her under his wing as his protege in fun. Although confused, Talulah follows Rory and the rest of the gang around as she gets used to her new life and tries to hide her true identity. But when someone very close to her in her home is in danger, Talulah realizes her family might just be the unicorn riders beside her. (By the way, I'd like to specify that this story takes places after season one. But since I'm not sure if or when Unicorn Academy gets a second season, everything in this book happens before season two. If season two happens, I'll write the events where they fit into the book.)

A thousand years ago, a beautiful princess reigned over a marvelous kingdom. But in time, her heart turned black as coal and the kingdom turned grim and fell to ruins. The princess' body transformed into something hideous. Four legs, dark and tangled long mane, a horn, a crown of darkness grew from her forehead. She remained in the ruins of her palace a thousand years, until one day- a chance perceives her to break her long-devoted curse.

Mara Sin was an anomaly since birth. In a forest, far away from other ponies, where unicorns were the only species that lived there, Mara was born magical but with a pair of big wings. The Void Magick forest was not welcomed in society- ponies that lived there studied dark magic; they were colder, more destructive and gradually, the dark magic became their own disease. How was she born with a weird body ? Why wasn't she born with a horn ? Why was she destined to be different from a whole community of magical creatures ? Why did the universe decide to make her different? Was it a punishment? This story is about how important it is to work within the darkness to achieve light. And that darkness is not all bad.
