Laurel Chipperston, a passenger on Fiberdale, finds herself in hot water after the death of her teacher. Just when she thinks she's lost it all, she gets a dangerous offer from the president. Laurel can get released from jail- but only with the fulfillment of one ghastly condition.

According to this myth, the gods tie an invisible red cord around the ankles of those that are destined to meet one another in a certain situation or help each other in a certain way. Often, in Japanese culture, it is thought to be tied around the little finger. The two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers, regardless of place, time, or circumstances. This magical cord may stretch or tangle, but never break. This myth is similar to the Western concept of soulmate or a destined flame. Gwen is a young woman who can see that string. And it is definitely not all fun and rainbows.

I've made huge messes of my room before, and somehow it still ends up clean without me doing any work. My sister Fuchsia doesn't get it, because her sorry face ends up on concrete every day. I wonder why she's nice to me, I always laugh at her when she makes a mistake.
