I sank deeper into my duvet as I shivered from the breeze that seeped through the cracks above the tinted window. I could hear faint murmurs on the other side of the door. The Murmurs turned into harsh whispers as I heard footsteps inching closer. I sunk further into the bed and shut my eyes tightly at the sound of the door creaking open. "Who are you fooling? I know you ain't sleep," the deep raspy voice spoke. I open my eyes to the old man smiling down at me with his hand behind his back. "Hey Grandpa." I sheepishly smiled before sitting up, "What are you doing here?" "Since you turn seven tomorrow, I thought that you deserve to open one of your presents earlier." He placed the dark sea green box before me that was secured with a golden ribbon. The silky fabric slipped between my small fingers as I pulled onto the ribbon, opening the box. Confusion overtook my excitement as I looked up at the old dark man, "what is it?" "A gift that has been passed down from every generation in the Lawson family." He smiled. I grabbed the circular shape necklace and narrowed my eyes on the engraving, "w-what does that say." I pointed out the symbols. "The Savior." Ok I've been an asshole to people in chats and I just wanna say I'm sorry. Everyone has their own opinions right???? But you're not entitled to your opinion, your opinion is not the truth its what you believe. If you can make a person agree with your opinion after a long debate, cool, but if not then just leave it alone and ignore it. Thats my advice! Flash back•• "Ashley, just do it!" "I can't. What if I get rejected?" "Just give it a try! It's just a boy!" "Ugh, your gonna pay for this!" I walk over to the jock table. I sit down beside the cutest guy in school. He totally took my breath away as I sat down. Everyone laughed at me. They laughed. "I'm-m s-s sorry I'll just g-go", I stutter, completly and unregularly. "No no, tell me what you needed to say", Caden says as he clearly was holding in loud laughs. His friends stopped, and they stared at me. "I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out sometime. Maybe? I mean it's not big deal, if you cant or if-", he cut me off. "See..I would, but I have this insecurity to not hang out with total dweebs like you", he says and his friends fist bump him and laugh obnoxiously. I walk back to my friend, and grab my bag, and run out the door. There's another thing to add, to my bestfriends death. End of flash back•• Ever since that day, I was homeschooled, and had very few friends. My brother was very well liked, but I didn't know if I was. i stayed inside the box, until I decide to give school another shot.
