Kayla Evergreen is far from popular. She is invisible to everyone except her best friend. She is what you would call a "good girl". She knows that she's adopted and all but so were her siblings. Even her own blood father won't contact her. But then all of a sudden she gets a letter about her life changing, what is she going to do with it? Will she find who she is in the process? Or will she just give up and give in to the illness?
