Isabel will accept the assignment and will travel to Venice at the height of the carnival, thus finding herself at the center of an adventure that mixes past and present, logic and paranormal, feelings that have an echo in the present and an inexplicable theft of paintings.

Il dispegarsi delle loro storie, ricche di sensualità, si perde tra i paesaggi incontaminati della Lucania e un alone di mistero avvolge il soggiorno della 'divina' nella dimora federiciana. Un lento processo di metamorfosi coinvolge tutti i personaggi di una storia che assume i caratteri dell'onirico e dell'indefinito, la cui tensione crescente culmina senza dissolversi nell'epilogo. È, questa, una labirintica avventura di senso attraverso i meandri del linguaggio, vero protagonista occulto del breve romanzo, attraverso la quale il lettore viene scaraventato da una forza centrifuga in stati di coscienza e autoconsapevolezza sempre diversi ad ogni successivo incontro con il testo.
