"...Neither did she." *** One July afternoon, Vijaypath finds himself roaming the streets of Zurich in search of an Indian restaurant. Only to come across a child, his cries fraying into the pavement. That same afternoon, he enters a music school with the child in search of his mother. Except that, in pursuit of the mother, he finds himself standing in one of the school's ensemble rooms instead. And far in front of him, under the spotlights on the stage, there sits a woman, a violin in her left hand and its bow in her right. For some time, the notes from the strings of that violin are all he feels and hears. It is a piece by Mozart, he recognizes. The exact one, he finds it hard to recollect. But then there comes a moment when she stops. There comes a second in time when he sees her raise her eyes. And when she raises them, all he sees is a pair of weathered pupils, like grey sapphires. She tilts her face, confusion settling into those weathered greys, and all he sees is the deep black and burgundy of her lush mane. At last, the bow in her hand stills over the strings, and all he sees is the white she is garbed in, set against the black ....all around them. (WORK IN PROGRESS-ON MY WEBSITE)

Leadership changes at MIRA, and Captain's crew has to transition from the Airship to SKELD. The lack of space causes a physical closeness that leads to many romances and rivalries. It doesn't help that the new boss at MIRA HQ is dedicated to splitting apart the crew. Luckily, they have friendship and trust to save them... for now. Established ships at the beginning will be EngineerxGnome, BdayxRose and GentlemanxMrCheese, however, more ships than that will be endgame! Content warnings later on for homophobia, mild drug use (aka weed and maybe alcohol/cigarettes), violence, etc, nothing too extreme and nothing sexual. Labeled non-mature for now but may be updated. "A Tale Best Forgotten" is a memoir prose with military, medical, mental health, and relationship drama influences. It tells the trials and tribulations of a veteran living through the traumas people see in the news and never get to actually understand. It capitalizes on this widely unexplored area by putting the reader directly into the fray and experiencing the trauma. It then shows the reader what it's like when that warrior returns home broken, feeling inadequate, and having to endure sometimes fatal disabilities.
