After the apocalypse, humanity began living within huge defensive strongholds to survive. New Aetherra is the only empire-sized city in the east surrounded by sturdy walls and covered by human-made atmospheric barrier. It was built and is governed under three bodies-the Government, the Novu Babel, and the Hunter Force-soldiers trained for battle against unknown creatures outside the city. Ian Velen, a troublesome weak Beta, was hated by the people around him including his own family. He only desired to go outside the city despite the dangers. His Alpha brothers loathed him thinking that he was the product of their mother's sin, and his father couldn't imagine him as his own. Despite his weak physique, he managed to become a Hunter and even had the nerve to confess and propose a marriage to his crush, Axel Krestel, the commander of an independent elite division, in front of so many people. The commander's disgust was obvious, and Ian had an idea that his actions stemmed from his crazy desperation to escape the city. He knew his background had more to it than what was seen outside. Taking an unknown drug on schedule to stabilize this unknown hunger to escape the city was just one part of it. But then an incident occurred. He missed his scheduled dose. His mother warned him that his life would be in danger.

He was reserved, protective of himself, and careful to keep his friends and enemies at a formidable and comfortable distance. But, there was one person who was out to change that whether they realized it or not. Kiyoomi was anxious the more this visitor came, but he was sure that maybe, just maybe, he would be okay if he let them slip through the cracks.

Lol this is my first book, it is terrible but I'm keeping it up for history's sake. Avery's soft, she's not a 'Roman-leader-type-dude', or a 'crush-your-inferiors-if-they-question-your-authority-kinda'-guy', she's more of a cocoa in winter kinda' gal. She likes kittens, y'know? However, the resident menace in her new school doesn't see things quite the same. He can be... difficult... And stubborn... And quite frankly, charming! I mean... Annoying...
