It begins with a glance.
Not a simple meeting of eyes, but a spark so fierce, so undeniable, that it awakens something ancient buried deep within two souls. We call it the Bond-a force stronger than reason, stronger than distance, stronger even than death.
Many mistake it for passion. Others call it fate. They are all wrong.
The Bond is neither a choice nor a blessing. It is a law woven into the fabric of our existence. Once awakened, it cannot be broken, ignored, or forgotten. To deny it is to condemn not only yourself, but the one destined for you. Walk away, and the consequences are fatal. The slow unraveling begins, consuming both souls until nothing remains.
Most discover their mate while young, often within their own culture and social circles. Cross-cultural bonds are rare enough to become legends. Yet countless others spend their lives searching, wandering through years of loneliness, clinging to the hope that somewhere their other half exists.
Our society is divided into two classes.
The first are the Royals-the powerful bloodlines whose names command respect and whose wealth opens every door. They possess influence, privilege, education, and status beyond imagination. Yet many Royals never find their mates. Some dismiss the Bond as a weakness, choosing ambition, power, and self-interest over destiny itself.
The second are the Able-Bodied-the forgotten majority. Laborers. The poor. The unemployed. The homeless. Those born without prestige or opportunity. Their lives are marked by hardship, and many spend their days struggling simply to survive. Hope is a luxury few can afford. Some search endlessly for their mate. Others abandon the dream altogether, surrendering to lust, corruption, and despair.
But fate does not care about wealth.
It does not care about status.
And it certainly does not care about the boundaries society has built.
Because when the bond awakens, every wall eventually falls.
And this is the story of what happens when it does.
