The sadness is only temporary, it comes and it goes, like the weather in the summer when the wind decides to move. The irony of looking up to something, or even just somebody, can't put the face onto the name that I don't even know the half of what you had, I had a dad that didn't know. Set in the small coastal town of Verrien, Maine, four friends are drawn to the old forest they grew up in and the mysterious girl living within it. There's Julian, the new kid with an author for a father and more of a history with this place than he knows; Finley, the brave fireball of a boy who sees himself doing nothing less than changing the world; his quiet little sister Maeve, who writes poetry and fears all things vast, and Elliot, who has been watching the girl from the forest for so long that she is a part of him, even when to the others she may not exist. But the forest, which seems at first whimsical and inviting, is taking pieces of them all, and they don't know if they can make it out whole, or if they want to.

Just me showing off some of my writing. Not all of them are good, mostly just little challenges that my friends send me. Warning! Lots of whimsy and magic ahead! I believe most problems in life can be fixed with a bit of whimsy. And so I am very whimsical when writing. And remember friends, we're all mad here. And that's okay.

My thoughts on when raindrops fall in love.
