Book #2 of the Campus Sleuths' Series. Enter the student life in the prestigious academe of Castillo High - where favoritism is a religion, the campus is a board game, and the system is bullshit. Every single student is a pawn. But not for long. Three of the academe's talented students play against the rules and display consecutive acts of anonymous rebellion, which leads to an investigation from Castillo High's newly-put up detective organization: the Campus Sleuths. It's a battle between the leagues as they hunt for each other's tails, only to discover that both groups are merely pawns in a much larger and more dangerous chess game - with a nefarious mastermind pulling the strings in the background. Will the two factions set aside their different views and agenda to overthrow a culprit whose dominance presides over the student body? In a place where everyone is a pawn in this chessboard, one must be willing to break the system and overthrow the empire. --- Genres: dark academia, political fiction, murder mystery, and young adult romance. By sunrise, the queen was dead. They found Chloe Monroe's body behind the football bleachers-her signature pink nails caked with dirt, her phone shattered beside her like glass promises. The police said it was murder. The students said it was karma. At Crescent High, Chloe wasn't just popular-she was power wrapped in perfume and cruelty. The kind of girl who smiled at you just before she ruined your life. She could make someone disappear from the social food chain with a single rumor, and she loved doing it. But beneath the perfect hair, the designer bags, and the fake apologies, Chloe had built herself an army of enemies. Everyone had a story, a reason, a scar. A girl she exposed. A boy she humiliated. A friend she betrayed. A teacher she made loose his job. So when word spread that she was gone, nobody cried. Not really. They whispered. They speculated. Some even smiled. Because in Crescent High, everyone hated Chloe Monroe. The only mystery left- was who hated her enough to kill her. ★.·.·.·.★.·.·.·.·★ IMPRESSIVE RANKINGS: #1 in Solve, Solving, highschool mystery thriller and teen thriller all in December 2025 #1 in SOLVE 23/12/25 #2 in CASE 26/12/25 #2 in SOLVING 27/12/25 #2 in INTERROGATION 27/12/25 #1 in TEEN THRILLER 18/01/26 #8 in WHODUNNIT 14/02/26

In a city where a single flower is worth more than a man's life, some secrets are deadly enough to kill for. Amsterdam, 1637. At the height of the insane Tulip Mania, a group of the city's wealthiest speculators gather on a lavish barge, De Vergulde Lelie (the Gilded Lily), for a secret auction. The prize: the Semper Augustus, a tulip bulb so rare it could buy a palace. But before the first bid is cast, the night is shattered by a scream. The host, a ruthless and widely hated speculator, is found murdered. The priceless bulb is gone. Trapped on the barge by the frozen canals, a handful of suspects are locked in a cage of opulence and fear: the bitter rival on the brink of ruin, the indebted English lord, and the vengeful farmer who claims the bulb was stolen from him first. The city watch sees a simple case of greed. But they're not looking closely enough. Signor Alvise Grimaldi, a disgraced Venetian glassmaker living in exile, sees what the others miss. He's not a detective; he's an artist with an eye for fatal flaws. While everyone else is blinded by the missing bulb, Grimaldi is drawn to the real heart of the crime: the silent, stolen glances between the victim's beautiful, trapped wife, Katarina, and the brilliant, obsessive painter, Frans van Loo. Their forbidden love is a secret far more dangerous than any financial debt. As Grimaldi peels back the layers of deception, he realizes the murder wasn't a simple robbery. It was a crime of passion, a desperate act disguised to look like greed. Now, he's in a silent duel with a killer who is just as much an artist of deception as Grimaldi is of glass. In a world gone mad with speculation, can a broken artist expose a truth hidden in a single drop of paint before the ice thaws and a devastating secret sinks them all?

Halloween is truly a festive time of year. Spooky stories, haunted houses and vampires that you can't help but thirst over because you're weird like that. That's why Hale Woodsen's inviting you to the Traitre Museum. You know, that weirdly atmospheric place near 86th, the one with the dome ceiling? Yeah. There'll be music. Shadows. Smoke machines. Candlelight that definitely isn't safe. Maybe even a Ouija board or two. Costumes are absolutely mandatory - don't come dressed like a civilian unless you want to be sacrificed mid-party for the aesthetic. For everyone has suffered a tragedy recently, the disappearance of Luca Almirez. For those who don't know (you're living under a rock), the basketballer disappeared a month or two ago, after the biggest game of his life. Nothing's been found about him, and to be honest? We're not sure if there ever will be. He was a best friend, a gifted sportsman, and overall a beloved member of society. Perhaps this is Hale's way of battling the grief. Since, you know, he was Luca's best friend. He's trying just as hard as everyone else to get to the bottom of this. His list of suspects is never ending, from Cady Lovaine to Ruel Cruz, to even Reverie Vale and Leslie Wilde. But they have hunches too, and so the story continues, dangerous and twisted. But that's not everything. If you want to get all the details, let's leave the Halloween party. Let's go to the 16th of August, where everything began.

Celia Jones can talk to the dead, but getting on with them is a different story. She always has at least three spirits following her around, complaining about their relatives, or the inadequacy of their funeral arrangements. The latest is a murdered actress, Maude Domby, but she's less interested in denouncing her killer than in accusing the understudy of stealing her favourite pearls. When the charming but utterly fraudulent medium Stanley Winter holds a séance to contact Maude, Maude insists she and Celia should attend, to see people mourning her 'properly'. But the séance ends up implicating an innocent woman, and now Stanley Winter is banging on Celia's door, begging her to help him find Maude's real killer. Unfortunately, helping Stanley Winter could lead Celia to confront her other power - the one that's both lighter and infinitely darker than talking to the dead. ONC Prompt: 72. A real necromancer sits in on a fake séance.

25-year-old Grace Avery is a stunning woman working as a detective/investigator. Due to her looks, she often gets sexist remarks from her colleagues, seen only as an object of praise and beauty rather than a fellow detective. Annoyed and frustrated, she goes to an old friend for help and assistance, asking for a partner who doesn't care about her looks and has the brains to work with her, to which she learns that there is a person who could help her, the problem lays in the fact that, that person is the very same man who Grace knew and hated in high school, Basil M. House. Will Grace continue to hate his guts? Is Basil the same man whom Grace knew in High school? And will their relationship change? This is a reimagining of Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Besides being a reimagining, it's also a composite of different mystery stories and movies that I loved, so don't be surprised if some of the cases or puzzles look familiar. Apologies for the grammar mistakes:( Really enjoyed writing this:) This story is also on royal road

Combat camp is a dream for kids like Rosa, a place where you can show off and hone your skills, hoping to be recruited for the Intergalactic Fleet. She's been enjoying duels, mock battles, capture the flag, hovercar races, and zero-gravity training. However, when someone from her camp is murdered, all training exercises are halted and the camp is locked down indefinitely. But there's a problem: The camp is located on a deserted planet, set aside specifically for training. No transports have come or gone. Whoever killed the kid was another camper or counselor. Games become reality as distrust spreads and the children break into factions. Some bow to the counselors' questioning, but when killings continue, others break away into the wild, using their skills to fend for themselves. Counselors are forced to hunt down the miscreants and restrain them (both for their own safety and for the investigation), but not everyone is convinced that counselors can be trusted. Rosa's team must choose its course, a decision made harder by the fact that the killer could be among them

I didn't mean to be involved in a murder. I only meant to survive a week-long corporate retreat on a private island where the Wi-Fi was unreliable and everyone hated each other politely. When our host turns up dead before the ferry returns, the rest of us are stranded with no outside contact, too many secrets, and one inconvenient fact: I may not be remembering the night correctly. As accusations circulate and alliances crack, I start documenting everything-mostly to prove I'm innocent, partly because someone needs to keep track of the lies. The problem is, the more I write, the clearer it becomes that everyone has a reason to kill him. Including me. So the real question isn't who did it. It's whether I can trust myself when I think I know the answer.
