Uriel has seen humanity destroy itself times in dozens of different timelines. He has an ability called Return by Death that lets him keep trying to save mankind. Every time there is a war or people rise up against their leaders or a big disaster happens Uriel has to relive it all again. He watches as whole civilizations fall apart because of people being greedy, scared and full of themselves. For a time Uriel thought that humanity was worth saving. This was because of the things he saw. Like a mother smiling at her kid.. Kids playing and laughing by a river. Just regular people trying to live lives in a world that can be very cruel. After living through more, than seventy timelines Uriel is starting to lose hope. He is starting to wonder if humanity is really worth saving. When something bad happens at a train station Uriel finds out about a group of people being treated badly hidden under all the noise of politics. This makes Uriel face the truth that he did not want to believe. The truth is that humanity does not learn from its mistakes. The truth is that humanity does not change. Uriel, the man who has lived forever to protect humanity is starting to think that maybe he should not be doing that anymore. He is starting to think that maybe humanity is not worth saving all.
