They say it is a Man's World. In this World, the women are there to stand beside men like 'Rocks of Gibraltar' and support their menfolk while they take on the world. A woman is referred to as a nurturing mother, a loving wife and a caring daughter. But all of these things are like the tip of an iceberg, the real stuff about women is what is hidden underneath, not visible to the naked eye. Women are generally made of sterner mettle and when the occasion demands, by their acts of bravery and fortitude, they can be a source of great inspiration to everyone, including men. During turbulent times, they can act like a lighthouse to a ship caught in troubled waters. I am lucky to know of one such woman and it is her story that I will narrate here; a woman who stepped out from her peaceful and the lady-next-door existence, to perform an act of exemplary courage.
