For Alvin Ronald Jenkins, life was nothing more than back pains and aching joints. He was ancient, indeed, nearing seventy-nine years old, with a thin white beard and glossy, cataract coated blue eyes. He was getting so old, in fact, that every night he went to bed not knowing if he would ever wake up. Yet he always remained his sensitive, caring, and beautiful self. Alvin never raised his cane in spite, or his voice in anger. During the course of his seventy-nine years of life, he treated people the only way he knew how - with kindness. - Entry for the Wonder Contest.

A story in which two girls simply learn to be kind.

A personal story from the heart about what it takes to choose kindness, the goodness it can bring, and even the lives it has saved. Sometimes kindness is not appreciated until the future has come, and sometimes kindness of others will hurt you until then, too. If the simple act of handing a paper to a dance coach would not be considered a kindness, then no one known what was on that paper. Suicide can come in as little as 53 Words.

Grant, a brilliant boy with great potential, has done everything just right. He found the best way to say on the sidelines, out of drama and free to do his work. He never really needed friends. Then a quiet, unassuming new girl walks into the classroom. Grant knows instantly that she will be ripped apart by his schoolmates, but stays out of it in order to keep away from all of the drama that is bound to happen. "Gifted" is a story about acceptance and standing up for others that is sure to warm your heart.

Three years passed after everything that happened with Auggie, Julian and everyone else, and they were now 14, in the 8th grade, Julian came back...and when a new girl also comes to their school, Seems like everything that happened 3 years ago is happening over and over again

Written for the WonderTheMovie Contest. Lauren is a high school senior. She has one painful story, but instead of letting it tear her down, she chooses instead to help a young girl, Amber. Lauren notices Amber going down a path all too familiar and makes the decision to extend a hand. What Lauren receives in return shows how even in the darkest of times, kindness can unlock incredible things.

This is my entry for the #wonderthemovie challenge, but even after it's judged I'm going to keep it up, hoping maybe it will inspire someone to spread kindness. When I was faced with the challenge of writing about a time when kindness prevailed in just 500 words, I thought it was going to be simple. I thought it was something I could whip up in a few hours. Oh, how wrong I was. Capturing the power of kindness isn't something that can be done, period, so trying to do it in a few hours is impossible. I wrote so many pros of what kindness means, but nothing satisfied me. So then I realized maybe it isn't what kindness means that should be written about, but maybe it's was kindness can do. So I decided to just tell a story of kindness, instead of trying to define it. I told a story that I hope will inspire others to spread kindness around. In my life, I have been blessed to be surrounded by such kind people. But not everyone receives that chance and it's our job to give that chance to those who don't have it. It takes only five seconds of kindness to change a life. This story is under 500 words and is inspired on a true event :)
