The thing that Polly does best is making people laugh. But then, why will nobody speak to her at school? Why does she have to sit by herself for lunch every day? People call her slow, and maybe she is, but is that so bad? Why Polly? I have no idea. I started writing my entry for the contest and this girl called Polly popped out of my laptop!

Just a small act from the heart.

Elle Chambers has lived a very unhappy life. Dealing with her parents always fighting, her older brother doing drugs and forcing her not to tell anyone. Having to go to school everyday, hoping that she would make just one friend, but realizing that no one cares about her. Being in high school and not having any friends is bad enough, but being in high school and getting bullied without any friends to stick up for you is worse than anything you can imagine. Since the seventh grade, kids have always been mean towards Elle. She never really understood why. Maybe because she was different, but she tried not to stand out. She had a very low profile, but a group of "popular" girls always seemed to find her. Now, four years later, everything has gotten worse. The name calling, the pushing, and the death threats. She could never get them to stop. Until a certain boy came along named Carson Matthews. He had transferred to her school during Christmas break and a few weeks after he had arrived, the bullying started to get easier and easier to handle. He was the only person to stick up for her. Everyone else would stand around and watch, even take out their phones to record it. He was the one to save her. To save her from the physical abuse and the mental abuse. He saved her from her own demons. He was her hero. After that, they were inseparable. They became the best of friends, and never left each others sides for anything. Kindness: the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. A kind act.

Emily, a 16 year old dancer born with Dissociative identity disorder, has never had what we would call a normal life. Jake a boy who just moved to her school changed her life forever.
