A collection of poems that had the potential to be loved, yet remained unnoticed. Poets don't just write - they bleed, piece by piece, into the paper. They breathe life into words and call it poetry. Writing is filled with what-ifs, maybes, and endless confusion. Yet a poet continues - to write, to bleed, to stay honest. Poets are known for writing about love, but in truth, they write what they secretly crave - and when asked why, they learn to lie. This book is a place where overthinkers can breathe, where tired minds can rest, and where those carrying too much can finally pause.

Have ever got stuck on a plot, a word, a scene or a story so much that you can't move forward? We as writers, believe everyone has been through that "phase". To counteract that stage and to boost our writing community(and the writer in us), we all need a boost, a push to keep at it. Keeping in mind, every Sunday, NewlyWrittenBooks are going to publish a writer's empowerment quote from writers across the world, to spark the writing bug within you. Cover made by the amazingly gifted @druidoflore :)

this is my heart that you hold in your hands, this is my raw feelings, unfiltered, not hidden. this is the blood in my veins, flowing onto words, and immortalized in them. please handle it with the outmost care, it is fragile and beating still. it is alive, it is me.

In this ravaged realm, they shed their modesty's cloak Youths who strut naked, with abandon and broke Their virtue, a canvas, besmirched and defaced As they embrace the sugar daddy's golden cage Their drug-addled dreams, a hallucinatory haze Abortions, a deadly harvest, reaped in shame's dark ways Their future, a flickering flame, threatened by the winds Of recklessness and despair, that howl and whine Ubuntu, a frayed thread, once woven with love's fine hand Now unravels, a tapestry torn, in a world so grand A generation lost, in a wilderness of pain Where darkness reigns, and hope's sweet light does wane Yet still, a glimmer flickers, a beacon in the night A chance to redeem, to rekindle love's pure light To guide them back, to the path that's true and bright And restore the Ubuntu, that once shone with beauty and might.

This is a poem I wrote when I was in a dark place. It describes how I felt and that I wanted to change but I didn't know how. when ever I feel down I wright another verse. Honestly I think this poem has helped me get by and I encourage others who are going through the same thing I did to put out their feelings weather it be through music, art, a poem, etc. I just wanted to put this out there because I feel it may help some people. If it doesn't then oh well but I tried. It is mature because of what it hints at so be warned. If you would like me to add anything of have any suggestions let me know. Stay safe my lovelies and know you are loved.

Thoughts I wrote down, maybe they'll give you some comfort? "But I feel something deeper. Beneath the fear, there is a fire inside of me, one I cannot extinguish. It burns with the pain and the rage of all the women who came before me. " PS. If you are to use one of my quotes, give credit!
