Catty and Sabrina Winchester have been on the run for a whole year. They have been fighting against monsters, Demon and Angel alike. They are afraid, they are always looking over their shoulder, and they don't know if they will ever stop coming for them. Dean Winchester, Ness Singer-Winchester and Castiel have been in Purgatory for that entire year, fighting and killing all of the monsters that have been trying to kill them. But there is also something that happened to her that they can't escape easily. Sam Winchester has lost Octavia, and now that he had lost Bobby, Dean, Ness, Castiel, and lost touch with Catty and Sabrina because they wanted to keep him safe from afar, he has tried to start a normal life where there is no pain, but it doesn't quite turn out like he wants it to. Castiel is mysteriously brought back from Purgatory, and he is under control of the Angels to try to take Catty and Sabrina for themselves. But what happens when he breaks that control and the Angels need more help than they thought they did? Can Sam, Dean, Catty, Ness, Castiel and Sabrina get over their fears, their problems, and try to move on with their future, repairing past mistakes or moving on from past loves? The Trials are in for the long run. Who will be involved in closing the Gates of Hell or Heaven? What will happen when the Gates are closed forever, and what will the world be like, and what will our dear ones be like? Sam Winchester is possessed by an Angel. Dean Winchester and Ness Singer-Winchester are in on the loop. Sam and Dean's sister, Catty, is not. Dean knows that Sam will be angry with him for a while. And he's worried to no end about his wife, Ness. Catty has the reason that she and Sabrina have been on the run for nearly two years, Crowley. She will try to torture her way to her and her daughter's freedom and other things the gang need. And Abaddon is targeting Catty to use her as a vessel as leverage over Sabrina to get what she wants from her to become the Queen of Hell. Castiel is human. When his and Catty's daughter, Sabrina, is victim of the fall, he takes Sabrina away long enough for her to heal herself and get back into the game. But Sabrina's wings had been burned off, and it will be a slow, long healing process. Octavia is back from the dead and having to deal with the fallen Angels looking toward her as a leader. And Ness will take on the Mark of Cain. She's the one for control. She's the one that always has an answer or always comes to the rescue, and now she needs to be the one rescued. Can they all move past their individual challenges to defeat Abaddon and Metatron? And what or who will they lose in the process?

Catty and Dean Winchester and Ness Singer have been out of the life for a year now. Catty had gone to her old flame, Brett Blake, up in New York, and made friends with his family. Became a cook at a restaurant and babysat Brett's sister, Sarah's, baby Abby. Dean and Ness had remained in Sioux Falls. Dean became a construction worker. Ness still works at TJz. The revelation of Castiel being controlled and manipulated into such things has shattered everyone involved. Sam, Dean, Catty and Scarlett Winchester. Ness and Bobby Singer. And Octavia and Angelos the Angels. Catty also realizes that Castiel hadn't been the only one who had been manipulated and used by Crowley, Zane and Balthazar. She realizes exactly what happened, and she is willing to o anything to try to fix it, even while grieving Castiel, Octavia and Angelos's deaths. Scarlett realizes that she and Catty, and Angelos, were too used by Crowley, Zane and Balthazar, and the revelation of what the three of them used Catty, Castiel, Scarlett and Angelos to create shakes the world of Catty and Scar, who now have to find the creations without the help of Cas and Los due to the events of last book. Dean is angry at Crowley, Zane and Balthazar. He is angry at Castiel for letting them get so far as to control him the way they had. He's angry that Octavia and Angelos died. He's angry at everything. But when Bobby dies, will he continue to fall part or be there for Ness? Sam is going through his Hell Wall that is crumbling, and Octavia's death. What remains of his Hell Wall comes in a shape that surprises him. It's not only Lucifer that he sees. Ness has always been the level-headed one. The one to go to when you need help for advice.
