It all happened so fast. The sickness spread like no other in recorded history, targeting individuals seemingly at random. In a single day, billions were infected. As if a switch had been flipped, every person who had come in contact and showed symptoms of the sickness dropped dead in the same moment. Everywhere around the world. To add insult to injury, the sick came back in full glory. Too bad they decided to switch teams.

My first-ever entry for the Weekend Write-In, 28th Apr 2017. It's a short tale of perilous captivity, luck and ingenuity, based on the theme of an animal affecting the outcome. Dedicated to Mr Edd and all my WriteOn friends.

She's got a dead (murdered?) brother, mentally unstable mom, and an aunt who thinks the best solution is to send Lorrie to her father's friend in Ohio, a (maybe attractive?) Air Force pilot who's feeding off the government's lies. About aliens. Oh, yeah. There are aliens. Forget the Russians and Korea and the terrifyingly unjust way of life of a girl in 1951, Lorrie's in way over her head. It's going to be a crazy summer. Rural Kansas, 1951. Six months ago, fifteen-year-old Loretta's brother died in a tragic accident. Now she struggles to take care of herself and her lost, neglectful mother. After an incident that proves she's no longer up for the task, she's sent to live with her late father's friend. The night before she leaves, she witnesses the unimaginable...aliens. When people brush off her encounter as grief and anxiety, Loretta sets out to prove she isn't the broken girl everyone thinks she is, and that extraterrestrials are more science than science fiction. But her pent-up emotions are rising, and it's only a matter of time before she's forced to face not the truths she wants to find, but she ones she can't accept. When things spiral into the impossible, Loretta learns that appearances are charades, and everyone has secrets as dirty as her own-secrets that, when messed with, may have consequences bigger than life itself.

I follow is a poem about living within your roots yet following a path you are aware is not going to be safe yet you follow in hopes of things in the world getting better.

Genre: Horror/Mystery 'Sometimes It's Better To Keep Things Untouched' A perfect beach trip. A mesmerising emerald stone. It looked so hypnotic and beautiful. It's just a stone, right? What could go wrong? What John didn't know was that his innocence was just the beginning of their ends. And whom does the whispers belong to that keeps echoing in John's head? Since the day John brought the stone home, eerie and creepy things began happening and even the deaths in his family. Is that all just a coincedence? And whom does the shadow belongs to that John keeps seeing? John, his sister, Hannah, and their friend, Emily, must act fast before the curse gets them. Will they be able to solve the mystery of the curse before it's too late? And who are the mutilated creatures following John around?
