YOU MESS WITH ONE OF THE THREE, YOU MESS WITH THEM ALL. When a powerful knight joins forces with the Covenant, time grows short for the races of shapeshifters. Three ancient spirits inadvertently started the war. And three must end it. The wolf has joined the ranks. So has the raven. But where is that feisty, reclusive dragon? With allies young and old searching high and low for the third spirit, can they find them in time? Can they put aside their differences to defeat this deadly foe? And how will they deal with the truth about who the knight really is? *** #170 in Fantasy - Feb 2, 2018 The Elimination Awards Finalist (5th Place) - July 2017 *** © 2017 by K.V. Wilson. [One Million Project - Fantasy/Sci-Fi Anthology] Russell Cornelius Brattle - a punctual and orderly teen - worked long hours as an apprentice tinker to provide for his broken family. His cousin Agatha - a free-spirited youngster - was eager to put her sewing days behind her and get her hands greasy. But she and her prosthetic limb turned out to be more trouble than they were worth. One act of clumsiness put into motion a chain of events that not even Russell could fix... __________ This short story appears in the Fantasy/Sci-Fi edition of the One Million Project (OMP). Baloney Ahoy!!! When I run into this messy state of not being able to write something worthy of being called 'writing' (which is most of the time) and want to get out of the rut, I pin all my hopes on drivel. BaloneyOpus will be my writer's block baloney haven. Stuff to read when one is in a mood to drown in drivel for the heck of it, and/or have nothing better to do with life. No logic, no message nothing - Just pure mindlessness. No vulgarity though.

It is a relatively calm day in the office. Burphy is in a good mood and is having a profoundly nonsensical conversation with Kiran and Chowkilal when a phone call sends them on yet another wild goose chase. And this time, Burphy can't do it alone and drafts in another whacky character to be, er, another sidekick. Together, can they solve the case? Can they unknot that which needs to be, so the complainant can tie the knot? Will Burphy live up to his reputation as the greatest Law Enforcement Officer?

Scott Mueller is a man on a mission, driven to climb a notorious mountain, for honor, for love, for redemption. Scaling the heights, he delves into his own psyche, questions his motivations, and comes to see what is truly important. This is a first draft and will no doubt see a lot of editing. Please let me know where you see improvements to be made. Eventually, I'll include it in my Passport to Adventure collection.
