At least, not until they were all brought into a new world by a woman named Melissa Willowood, who calls herself a "Dimension Jumper". After that, the four of them became the unlikeliest of teams, working together to overcome obstacles and keep dimensional timelines on track. Amidst the unrest a a young slave girl by the name of Serilda escapes her master. She didn't expect much she'll probably be caught again, if she was lucky she might live the rest of her life as a recluse. That is until she meets elderly Lycurgus and his band of loyal followers. Have you ever heard an unexplained howl? A whisper of a voice, that you just can never make out? Ever caught movement out the corner of your eye, an outline in the darkness? Every four years, the eighteen-year-old human females would swarm at the Cresonation Square, silently praying they weren't late. There was always a terrified fear in their hearts. Every four years, the sixteen-year-old vampire males would arrive at Cresonation Square, hoping they seemed fashionably late. There was always a hungry desire in their hearts, although it did not beat. It was tradition that a female human and a male vampire were paired up, so the vampire could turn the human. For only males were born vampires. The females were bitten. Shea Kirse, at the young age of sixteen, is mistakingly labeled as an eighteen-year-old. Elijah Clairice is paired up with her. And at such a young age, it could be fatal to be Lawfully Bitten.
