There was always a hungry desire in their hearts, although it did not beat. It was tradition that a female human and a male vampire were paired up, so the vampire could turn the human. For only males were born vampires. The females were bitten. Shea Kirse, at the young age of sixteen, is mistakingly labeled as an eighteen-year-old. Elijah Clairice is paired up with her.
