✍️ For My Fellow Writers This is not a story. This is a note. A note for the writer who rereads the same chapter again and again, wondering if it's good enough. For the writer who loves their characters but isn't sure if the emotions are reaching the page. For the writer who wants honest feedback - but is afraid of harsh words. I wrote this for you. Inside these pages, I talk about writing, doubt, storytelling, and what it really means to have someone read your work with care. This book is part reflection, part reassurance, and part honest insight from a reader who understands how vulnerable writing can be. I'm a writer first, and a beta reader second. I believe stories deserve gentleness, clarity, and respect. If you're looking for: • thoughtful reader feedback • insight into pacing, plot, and character depth • a second pair of honest eyes • encouragement without false praise Then this space is for you. This is a quiet corner on Wattpad - for writers who care deeply about their stories. - Sneha 🤍

So you've got a great story, characters you love, a plot which grips you. You want to share your story with the world; you're excited about it, and you want people to read it. But you feel like they land on your page and lose interest as soon as they read your summary. This seems to be a recurring problem. Here are five easy steps to follow to make your summary stronger, and to get more readers. Disclaimer: this is not official or endorsed by Wattpad in any way; I've just made it up to help other writers. My creds: I'm an editor and freelance writer. I've lost count of the number of blurbs and summaries I've written or edited. I'm happy to help out with your summaries if you PM me. For what it's worth, I think writing summaries is one of the hardest parts of being a writer. We're writers, not salesmen - it's hard to put yourself in the mindset of the reader, to write something that will hook them. I write mainly teen fiction so my advice is skewed towards that, but I think the advice works for all genres and categories. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Guidance and tips for writers . . .that you haven't seen a thousand times before! What's inside (or soon to be): * Essays about the creative process. * How to create realistic characters. * How to avoid writer's block -- forever. * Why reading has nothing to do with writing. * Dodging tons of writing pitfalls. "A Thousand Words" is a project that will take some time to complete. Its ultimate purpose is to combine a highly-distilled and potent collection of writing guidance with my original photography, used to illustrate the points (or just look pretty.) The final work will be a photobook, coffee table style. I'll be writing the content here on Wattpad. (A first for me.) It will be changing and evolving before your eyes, and hopefully, you'll enjoy learning from it and giving your feedback!

Your Blurb is critical to the survival of your novel, perhaps even more so than your cover design. And if an agent finds fault with your synopsis, he or she is unlikely to read your manuscript. First Impressions Services focuses on English grammar and style, structure and length, mood and other key points. Services are free, but I do ask for a read and comment of any of my Wattpad works. Message me via Wattpad with your blurb and/or synopsis requests, or email me at dmountney1138@hotmail.com I endeavour to provide service requests within one week, but please allow a further week for busy times.
