When music prodigy Melody is forced to leave her home in New York City by her spiteful guardians, she moves to Japan, where she had once lived with her grandparents as a baby. In America, she leaves behind her childhood friend and her first love, and ironically travels with their most loathed enemy to her new home. When she finally gets to her destination, she enrolls in Karasuno high school as a transfer student. There she meets many interesting people, including the ambitious and capable boy's volleyball team that would serve as the doorway to new opportunities and heartwarming reunions. However, her happy time at Karasuno would be interrupted by her failing music career and an old disease growing progressively worse. One day at the hospital, she encounters an interesting group of 3 professional figure skaters, whom she spends her months recovering watching. Their passion and devotion inspire her, and aroused with determination, she decides to enter one more international music competition. Together with her volleyball boys and her figure skating idols, her high school experience is bewildering and full of fervor. When all is done and done, she will find that all these ordeals will unexpectedly culminate to the real truth about why she was sent so far away from home.
