If Sirius Black had his way, the Black family would remain long-lost relatives he had nothing to do with, including Grimmauld Place which he managed to inherit, yet Grimmauld Place is unfortunatly a place he can easily hide as he remains a wanted man for something he didn't do. The last thing he expected was to encounter the ghost of his younger brother, but something feels off. Or perhaps, it's just the unresolved feelings regarding Regulus' death, particularly when he's the only one able to see Regulus from what he can tell. Disclaimer - I don't own Harry Potter. This is written for ONC 2025, prompt 19, "You inherit a house from a long-lost relative, only to discover it's haunted by a ghost from your past. How do you deal with what you once knew?"

Keith finds himself struggling with things said in the past when Lance says something to trigger unfavorable memories. This creates tension between him and Shiro. Tensions increase even more among all of the paladins when Keith becomes ill unexpectedly, tying into a secret regarding Keith and Shiro. Disclaimer - I don't own Voltron: The Legendary Defender. This story ties into Aliens Among Us. The story works with the theories that Keith and Shiro are brothers, but also the Keith is an alien theory which is floating around, but with a few twists.

He doesn't expect the first day to have unexpected "drags", or that he would find a reason to step out of his comfort zone. Temari's life is a drag with a brother who practically qualifies for the 'hikikomori' label, and could blow up at any minute due to anti-social issues. She also deals with being mislabeled as a 'yankee' by the other students at her school. Everybody cared to much about appearances, and life in general ended up dragged down. Welcome to the first day of high school. Disclaimer - I don't own Naruto. Note - The ship I'm working with is canon, and was slow to develop because of the canon characters personalities. In Japan high schools are grades ten to twelve rather then nine to twelve. Students pay for their high school education in the vast majority of cases, and also take entrance exams to get into the school of their choice. The class representative for the freshman year is the student who scored highest on these exams. The opening of the school year for first year students at schools no matter the level is typically accompanied by an opening ceremony. A hikikomori is a shut in, but more specifically a hikikomori is a person who struggles for a long period of time to venture out of their homes, and they also struggle with social interactions/forming social bonds. A yankee is slang for a female gang member in Japan, particularly one that rides bikes.

Prejudical eyes followed Toshiro around as a child, before he went into the academy. He believed that no one outside granny and Momo thought of him as anything but a jinx. Note: I've read a lot of stories where an OC is supposed to be Toshiro's childhood friend and it is their job to melt his heart so they can be in a romantic relationship with each other. The problem is that Toshiro was never able to make friends easily and his only relationships prior to becoming a Shinigami were his foster sister Momo, his granny and Kusaka from the academy. If he had just one friend things would be very different, but the writers always forget this fact. I asked myself what solution would I come up with and it was to create an acquaintance who has a crush on Toshiro but was always to shy to approach him. This also said, she's also they kind of girl that is very likely not to have her feelings reciprocated by the boy she likes.

Mary Anne simply wants to be there for her friends regardless of her own needs. Disclaimer - I don't own Babysitter's Club 2020. Note - For the second episode, I honestly felt Kristy also owed Mary Anne an apology, but also feel Mary Anne wouldn't have said what she did if Kristy hadn't first said what she had regarding Mary Anne's father. I also felt that there was a miscommunication issue between Mary Anne and her father. On the other hand, I love how Mary Anne handled the situation in that she does in fact handle it with maturity, but I also love how Kristy's need to control things is tied directly into her actual life circumstances and things she needs to deal with personally. She has definite room to grow as an individual.

Orion always knew just how vulnerable his youngest was, and he'd give anything to keep Regulus safe while also allowing the boy to live the bright life he deserved. The fact she doesn't remember Severus calling her Mudblood meant a second chance, but taking advantage of her lost memories didn't seem right. Four years pass, and Severus finds himself invited to Lily's Christmas dinner with her family, and Remus, and goes not expecting anything to happen. He's also still not fond of Petunia. Part of the idea also came about because the idea popped into my head regarding there being some kind of truth to what Doris Purkiss said, yet the fact she couldn't tell the difference between Regulus and Sirius is also meant to tie into her being a rabbid fangirl of Stubby Boardman.

It was this reason, though, that Phineas wanted to change the way students were admitted to Hogwarts, but it had nothing to do with banning Muggleborn as Sirius Black would likely be inclined to believe his ancestor did. Disclaimer - I don't own Hogwarts Legacy. This is written for the first regular Froday challenge for August 2023, the prompt being selection. The inspiration for this story lies in the idea Sirius Black is an Unreliable Narrator when it comes to his family, the Black family. More specifically, I'm interested in degrees of prejudice and why a particular character may or may not hold a degree of prejudice, which in turn left me wanting to examine Phineas Nigellus Black's character to which I realized for his character's historical context is essential. This, in turn, made me realize historical context is actually essential for all the characters given how Muggle and Wizarding societies separated from each other in 1692, which in turn would mean cultural schisms between the two groups regarding the way they think about certain things. This particular story focuses on the workhouse still existing around the time Phineas Nigellus Black was headmaster, but also the assumption his wanting to change how students were admitted had to do with him barring Muggleborn, and this not being the case. This isn't to say what he wanted wasn't controversial, because it certainly is, although it's also not as controversial as Johnathan Swift's modest proposal was.
