In contrast to Yona who had striking velvet-red hair, Hana was born with natural orange hair. That was how she earned the name Hana of the Dusk from Soo-won. At the age of 12, when she was informed that she would be the Queen in the next few years after her father's retirement, Hana had refused the throne, for she deemed she was not fit to become the ruler of the kingdom. She had persuaded her father to pass the title of the heiress to Yona, since Yona had a good heart and would obviously be a better ruler than Hana. Besides, Hana preferred a life with freedom; not bound to any duties. King Il had reluctantly agreed and granted her wish. Hana then stayed with the Wind Tribe to train with Lord Mun-Dok and Hak. She lived a good life, getting a chance to do whatever she wanted. She had a kind and loving father, a sister who adored her so much, and a childhood best friend who loved to annoy her. She wouldn't want it the other way around. But we don't get to choose what happens in our lives, do we? On this one particular night, Hana's life turned into hell in a blink of an eye.

A long, long time ago, there were six dragons that ruled heaven: the Crimson Dragon, the White Dragon, the Blue Dragon, the Green Dragon, the Yellow Dragon and the Dark Dragon. The six dragons were great friends and their bond was so strong, it was unshakable. However, the Crimson Dragon came down to earth and became human. He fell in love with humans and led a kingdom, the Kohka Kingdom. But not long after he became human, he had to fight the humans. The people's hearts filled with evil, they forgot the gods, and the kingdom fell. The Crimson Dragon, too, was seized by power-hungry people. Just before he was about to get killed, five dragons came down from heaven. They begged him to annihilate the humans and come back to heaven. However, he refused and the five dragons were devastated. Not wanting to lose him, the five dragons gave their blood to human warriors to give them power. These warriors protected the Crimson Dragon until he died.
