Nobody understands, nobody wants to hear. Some people listen but it's hard to get the point across properly when all the thoughts going on at the same time are hard to differentiate and form into a single thought process to say out loud. Most will say there's nothing wrong because everything seems fine, words are forming in full sentences, demeanor seems normal, and feeling so sad is normal sometimes. If there were a way to explore a sick mind that looks normal from the outside, would it be worth the effort to try to understand? If there were some way to see through the eyes of someone with psychological struggles that are hard to explain and virtually invisible, wouldn't it be easier to interact with and help those people? Sick like us is the first piece of a collection of allegories that are meant to bridge the communication gap between a less common perspective and a world that can't comprehend such an inconspicuous illness.

Empathy and sympathy are often mistaken for one another. One being more commonly used for a person going through a rough time than the other. Sometimes life breaks a person down so much and so often that it feels impossible for anyone to understand. For someone who is familiar with the feeling of being broken and alone, empathy comes more naturally. The Loyalty they would feel is very deep and nearly unbreakable. Not many understand the idea behind being there for someone unconditionally outside of family. The same few have likely never had to completely break all alone without a single hand to reach out to. Count on me is the 3rd allegory in the sick like us collection featuring a personal experience used as a relating point. When someone goes through something like that alone, they wouldn't ever let anyone else do the same.

Well that's the same girl who's mom just died ,who's father is never home and only gives them money, she has to sacrifice her social life to look after her 2 eight year old brothers and her five year old sister , she putts them on and off the bus has to help with there homework ,cook them dinner, get them ready for bed and only then get to do her homework she ends up going to sleep at 12 wake up do it all over again ,and still manages to have friends that stick by her side ,to get good grades because she needs a scholarship to get to a good college that's close to home so she could still look after her siblings .She cried herself to sleep at night because of The names people call her behind her back, in the hallways ,she hears it in class they call her a try hard, nerd geek a loser etc. All while she's trying to provide for her family , so she can get into a good college that's close to home so she can still look after her siblings ,and trying to make her dead mom proud ....think twice before you judge that girl
