My life has never followed a simple path. Being on the autism spectrum has shaped the way I experience the world, face challenges, and find my place in it. This is my story of struggles, growth, dreams, and learning that my voice deserves to be heard.

One night, the Banditos are all by the fire, singing and chatting. Clancy catches sight of a figure walking towards the camp. In gray Dema citizen sweats. With nobody accompanying it. It's trying to walk up over the hill towards the camp. Nobody had ever seen a Dema citizen make it to the camp by themself. Then Clancy sees you collapse against the hill, and he springs into action, sprinting towards you to help while the rest of the Banditos watch with caution.

This book is for those who are having trouble taking care of themselves, rather it be because you feel like you don't deserve it, or because you just don't have the energy. Or if your having a plain bad day, you belong here for sure! I'm hoping by you reading this, you will do as each chapter says and remember to love yourself, cause you definitely deserve it! I just want people to know that they are worth it, that they aren't alone, that they have a purpose. You are not alone in this huge world, it may seem scary at times but it's not alway going to be a bad day. So many people love and care for you whether you like it or not and if you can't find someone who's like that well trust me you will. It just takes time and patience. That's just life for you.

This story is much darker than my other ones, and does not have a happy ending. "Escape" deals with abuse and the repercussions of not seeking help immediately. When I first wrote this story for a Creative Writing class in college, it didn't feel right to give It a happy ending. I felt as if it didn't give Mia and the victims of abuse justice since I want my readers to know what happens when help is not sought. If you suffer from abuse - any form, whether it be physical, emotional, or psychological - please, PLEASE, seek help immediately. You're worth more than the abuse you suffer.
