A lover of all things loud and garish, Jake has a penchant for telling stories that examine the line between beauty and ugliness and their relation to order and chaos. Proudly and loudly queer, Jake focuses much of his time writing and directing stories featuring marginalised characters in leading roles. Jake has recently written three feature films spanning a variety of genres that are undergoing festival submission, and has most recently tried his hand at playwrighting. His stories are often dramadies, and often feature strong Australian settings and inspiration. Since graduating the Victorian College of the Arts with a bachelor in film and television, Jake has developed his own theatre company (Worst Generation Theatre) and has a side hustle as a videographer and costumier. He currently writes from inside the security cupboard of his retail job when no one is looking.
