I worked for eight years at Bonhams, Christie's and Sotheby's auction houses, where I was exposed to an industry of unbridled luxury, latent ambition and eccentric characters. I loved my time there; it was dramatic, glamorous and a great deal of fun. People constantly ask me about my experiences there, so I decided to put pen to paper.
